French Hot Chocolate
The most decadent hot chocolate that will transport you back to a café in Paris.

Ingredients
Hot Chocolate
- 4 oz milk chocolate or preferred chocolate
- 1 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp instant coffee
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Whipped Cream
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp white sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
Make the Whipped Cream
- Whip the heavy cream, white sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. It's ready when you can turn the bowl upside down without the whipped cream falling out. Place it in the fridge while you make the hot chocolate
Make the Hot Chocolate
- Chop up the milk chocolate and set aside. Add the whole milk to a pot and bring it to a simmer, being careful not to let it come to a boil. Add the chopped chocolate and whisk it into the milk until it has melted. Mix in the instant coffee and let it continue simmering for 10 minutes. Before turning off the heat, add the heavy cream and vanilla extract.
