Tiramisu Hot Chocolate
The most decadent hot chocolate inspired by tiramisu and topped with a mascarpone-based cream.

Ingredients
Tiramisu Hot Chocolate
- 30 g milk chocolate
- 10 g dark chocolate
- 2 cups milk
- 1 tbsp dark cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 or 2 shots espresso, depending on your coffee preference
- 2 tbsp heavy cream
Mascarpone Cream
- 2 tbsp mascarpone cream, room temperature
- 1 1/2 tsp white sugar
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- splash of vanilla extract
Instructions
Make Tiramisu Hot Chocolate
- Roughly chop the dark and milk chocolate, then set aside.
- Bring the milk up to a simmer over medium low heat. Do not let it boil.
- Whisk in the chopped chocolate, dark cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt. Continue simmering for ~10 minutes.
- Pour in the espresso, and before turning off the heat, whisk in the heavy cream.
Make Mascarpone Cream
- Use a handheld frother or mixer to mix the mascarpone cream until creamy, then add the sugar. Add the heavy cream and vanilla extract and continue whipping until the cream is stiff enough to turn upside down without falling out.
Assemble the Drink
- Pour the hot chocolate into two mugs and top with scoops of mascarpone cream. Dust with cocoa powder and enjoy with a ladyfinger on the side!
